Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

P&C is to promote the interests of the school by bringing parents, citizens, students, and teaching staff together. The P&C also aims to promote the recreation and welfare of students by providing facilities and equipment for the school. Joining the P&C or attending a meeting is a great way for you to know more about the school and be involved in your school community.

Some examples of P&C activity at Winston Hills Public School includes:

●      The uniform shop

●      The school band

●      Bookclub

●      Fundraising events including Mother’s and Father’s Day Stalls, Election Day BBQs and School Discos

P&C meetings occur on the 4th and 8th week of each term at 6.30 pm in the school staffroom or via Zoom. Attendees are not required to join the P&C, but only those who join the P&C can vote on decisions at meetings.

If you have any questions or would like to be involved, contact us at whpspandc@gmail.com or leave a message at the office.

Membership

Becoming a financial member of WHPS P&C provides you with the agenda and minutes of all meetings. It also allows you to propose motions, vote on motions and stand for elected positions. We encourage everyone in our school community to become a member of the P&C. There is no obligation or commitment required to become a member.

To become a member, complete our online membership application via the QR Code below. You are also required to pay a gold coin membership fee. Fees can be paid by bank transfer (details located on the online membership form) or via cash at the next meeting you attend. Membership will remain current for a full year. Renewal requirements will be emailed to you when required.

If you have anything you would like to discuss at a meeting, please email it to  whpspandc@gmail.com  prior to the meeting occurring, and it will be added to the agenda.
